Whoop whoop! that’s the sound of da police.

Disclaimer: this post is delayed as I wanted it to be “approved” by Dave.  Security issues are obviously really important to us now, but I have already mentioned this goal and plan of ours enough that y’all know about this already.

So.  It was a really long time ago when we started this journey (ick, I usually hate using that word, but it has really been one), and it all came into fruition on Tuesday 17th July, when D had his first day at Police headquarters.  I’m not going to wax lyrical about how much work and love went into making this happen.  But it has happened.

Last Wednesday night his mother and I were lucky enough to join him at the station to take part in a small ceremony.  D swore an oath, accepted his warrant card, and was formally accepted as a Constable.

I couldn’t be more proud of him.

And lookit how handsome he is in that uniform.  The hat makes our height difference even more ridiculous!
